"Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I, I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference"
- Robert Frost
Fourteen years ago, I became a fulltime mom and wife. The transition from working mom to stay-at-home mom was thrust upon me when the company I worked for closed shop. It was an answered prayer; my children (Daniel, Miguel and Gabriel) were growing up so fast and I wanted so much to be there for them during their childhood years.
I wasn't so sure how things would turn out for me at that time. I had worked for more than a decade and I had gotten used to earning my keep and having my own money. Looking back, being a fulltime wife was the greater challenge for me.
Rick Warren stated in his book "The Purpose Driven Life" that it's not about me. My purpose in life is far greater than my heart's desires and ambitions for self-fulfillment. It's even far greater than my family. I'm a fulltime mom and wife to serve God's purpose for me. I may not be the best mom or the most loving wife but I try my very best to be who God wants me to be.
I had two more sons: Jonah is 12 yrs old while Joshua is 11. The three older ones are now in their late teens. Daniel and Miguel are in college. Gabriel is in 4th year high school. In a few years time, they'll be pursuing their respective careers and finding their own life's purpose.
The path I chose was "the road less traveled by" and I heartily thank the Lord for leading me to it.
